Dare to Dance Festival - Maryborough

ASTERIA Services Inc. - Thursday, April 22, 2010
Jill, Dianne, Jack and Vickie were invited to attend the Dare to Dance Festival at the Maryborough Town Hall on the 22nd of April 2010. This was the second time clients from ASTERIA were able to show off their wonderful talent.

Before walking in the clients were greeted by the sounds of the yester year, performed by Max Finch & his friend’s band. The old time music flowed down the hall to greet us as Jill and Dianne danced up a storm. Jack and Vickie got into the rhythm of the dances as they were performed at a comfortable pace, and with friendly people to dance with, the afternoon was a blast.

Having a Say Conference

ASTERIA Services Inc. - Thursday, February 11, 2010

Once again a group from ASTERIA went to the Having a Say Conference in Geelong. It was attended by Carlien, Brendan, Darren, Blair and Jill. We arrived at lunchtime to register and received a bag full of goodies. Everybody was very excited!! At 1.30pm Mandi, Carlien, Jill, Blair and Darren went to the Pilots of the airwaves performance. Brendan joined in with the breakdancing workshop and eventually had to have a rest after some killer moves. After the break jill did a Karaoke workshop where she sang up a storm to ABBAs mamma mia!! Then it was a mad rush (not really) in the rain to get to the Rose Garden Motel.

Once there, everyone scrubbed up for the dinner dance that night. The theme for the night was crazy hair. And well there was some funny hair dos –lots of colours and glitter!! It absolutely poured with rain and it was a mad scramble to get from the bus into the Kardinia Center without getting wet!! (and ruining some truly spectacular hair) The night was a great success and we all went back to the motel exhausted. The next morning everyone was up early for breaky, a walk along the beach, a spot of shopping and then to the Conference. We went to the ‘accomodation puzzle’, a story of one girls move into her own unit. Brendan was very impressed with her story. We left Geelong after lunch and got back to Maryborough by 3.30pm.
