Collingwood vs St Kilda

ASTERIA Services Inc. - Saturday, June 04, 2011

Jack, Danny & Bill were accompanied by Ken & Marcus for this Saturday

night clash between the Pies and Saints. Danny was very keen to see his Saints play and Jack & Bill are both enthusiastic followers of Collingwood.

We took the Toyota Hi-Ace bus and arrived safely at the MCG in good time to find our seats and settle in for the match.

We were seated about six rows from the fence in the Olympic stand and had a fantastic view of the game. It was a great experience to be so close to the action and to be able to hear the thuds and slaps as players contested the ball.

The game started very well with the Saints looking very competitive, so all three clients had something to cheer about.

We were lucky to be surrounded by very friendly and well behaved supporters on both sides which added to the enjoyment of the evening. Bill waved his scarf and cheered, “Go Pies!” to the St Kilda fan next to him. Jack befriended a Collingwood supporter in the next row who high fived him every time the Pies kicked a goal. Unfortunately for St Kilda, that happened fairly frequently in the second half.

The Pies went up a notch after half time but the Saints just couldn’t match their class and intensity.

We were well catered for by food and drink sellers who frequently passed by, which meant we only had one reason to leave our seats.

The guys all barracked with gusto as they followed the action.

The atmosphere at a night match at the “G” is just fantastic and the night was a great experience for our footy followers.

When it became obvious that the Saints had no chance well into the final quarter we decided to try to beat the rush and get to our bus early. A lot of other people were doing the same but we did get away reasonably quickly.

Jack and Bill left feeling very pleased with the result, although Danny was a little disappointed, he handled the loss well. He was a bit sad that he didn’t get to talk to Nick Reiwoldt, but we explained that he was a bit busy on the night.

Once on the road the footy traffic finally thinned out, and we were soon on the freeway and homeward bound.
