Now that the cooler days of autumn have arrived, the gardening activities can be done for a full day.
After all of the preparation work on Ben and Blair’s garden beds, today we finally began the best part: planting. Blair planted purple bean seeds, and Ben planted sweet peas. Both crops were planted along the trellises, to climb up and form a backdrop to the beds.
Ben and Blair chose the plants for their gardens, and Ben’s will be mostly flowers while Blair has chosen mostly vegetables.
We have also started planning an automatic irrigation system for our gardens, drawing ground plans and looking at components.
Today our group celebrated Amy’s 29th Birthday, and took her out for morning tea and also flower-shopping!
